Projeto Ile Ifé

O projeto Ile Ifé nasce das viagens feitas pelos pesquisadores Iyá Leke e Bàbáláwo Sandro Ifátoterá à cidade de Ile Ifé, na Nigéria.

A partir de suas pesquisas e estudos, realizados em solo africano, perceberam a complexidade das manifestações culturais brasileiras e as contribuições africanas para a formação do universo cultural do Brasil.

Foram então realizadas uma série de ações a fim de compartilhar o conhecimento adquirido no intercâmbio Brasil-Nigéria, ocorreram exposições, palestras presenciais e online, e a publicação de um livro "Do Carnaval na Ilha de Florianópolis ao Ólojó em Ile Ifé: Uma Ponte de Alegria em Diáspora Africana" que trata das sintonias entre o Carnaval de Florianópolis e o Festival Ólojó em Ile Ifé.

The Ile Ifé project was born from the travels of researchers Iyá Leke and Bàbáláwo Sandro Ifátoterá to the city of Ile Ifé in Nigeria.

Through their research and studies conducted on African soil, they recognized the complexity of Brazilian cultural expressions and the significant African contributions to the formation of Brazil’s cultural landscape.

As a result, a series of initiatives were carried out to share the knowledge gained from the Brazil-Nigeria exchange. These included exhibitions, in-person and online lectures, and the publication of a book titled "From Carnival in Florianópolis to Ólojó in Ile Ifé: A Bridge of Joy in the African Diaspora," which explores the connections between Florianópolis’ Carnival and the Ólojó Festival in Ile Ifé.
